Eleventh Annual Pastors Conference - 2008

"The Bible in the Air by Heart" with Rev. Dr. Tom Boomershine, September 20, 2008

This conference will introduce getting the Bible into the air by learning and telling biblical stories by heart. The theory of biblical storytelling will be outlined including the story of how the Bible was transformed from sound into textual silence. We will explore the structure of human memory and the most efficient ways of learning stories by heart. Everyone will join in a community storylearning/telling experience that will include personal stories of healing and overcoming of fear. The potential roles of biblical storytelling in congregational life will also be described with specific examples as preparation for the afternoon workshops.
