Earlham School of Religion and Bethany Seminary Students

All ESR and Bethany Students are required to have a Covid Vaccination if they intend to be on campus. For more information go to:

Bethany Students

New students are expected to participate in Orientation at the beginning of the semester in which they matriculate. The schedule is balanced to:

  • introduce new students to peers, staff, administrators, faculty and, when possible, current students from both Earlham School of Religion and Bethany Theological Seminary
  • familiarize students with the locations of and information about the Lilly Library, wellness center, business office, Academic Services office, and computer labs
  • provide essential information about academic programs and policies
  • facilitate advisor assignments and registration for courses

Thursday, July 15, 12:15-12:45 - Virtual ESR Billing, Financial Aid, and Insurance Info Session - Meet Jonelle Ellis, Director of Business & Facilities at ESR and learn basic information about Billing, Financial Aid or Health Insurance for ESR students. Jonelle will answer common questions and then schedule follow up sessions with individuals. You received an email with the Zoom link.

Wednesday, July 21, 4:00-5:00pm - Virtual Joint Seminary Registrar Info Session (not required) - In this joint session, students from both Bethany and ESR will meet the Joint Seminaries Registrar, April Valonden.  If you haven't gotten the opportunity to register yet, or if you have some questions about the process, make sure you either join this session or watch it later!  Video

Thursday, July 22, 2:00-3:00pm - Bethany Financial Aid Session (optional) - Bethany students will have the opportunity to meet with Financial Aid and Enrollment Assistant Terri Mitchell.  Terri handles such things financial aid, scholarships, work-study, and billing.  If you have any financial aid related questions, make sure to come meet Terri!  Video and passcode  R2z^D.c5

Tuesday, July 27, 2:30-4:00pm - Virtual Joint Seminary/EC Library Resources and Moodle (not required) - In this session, Bethany and ESR students will have an opportunity to get to know two incredibly important tools for this seminary journey: the library and Moodle.  While the library will be at a distance for many of you, it still has many tools to offer you.  More and more of the libraries' collection is offered online, and the Joint Seminaries Librarian, Karla Fribley, is more than happy to help you dig deeper into those research papers.  Likewise, Moodle may seem a bit tricky at first, but it will be very important for you to know how to use this tool to connect with your classes and your fellow students.  Video
